Heavenly Father, we thank You that when we submit to You, You do not suppress who we are… but You free us to become who You made us to be.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
And that’s not all. We also celebrate in seasons of suffering because we know that when we suffer we develop endurance, which shapes our characters. When our characters are refined, we learn what it means to hope and anticipate God’s goodness.
1 Corinthians 11:1
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
God almighty, help us to listen & cooperate with Your Spirit at work in us.
1 Peter 1:2
The people chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through the sanctifying action of the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus, the Messiah, and to be sprinkled with His blood. May grace and peace be yours in abundance!
Deuteronomy 11:2, 8
Remember today the discipline you learned from the Lord your God. (I’m not talking to your children. They didn’t see or experience any of this.) You saw and experienced His great power—His mighty hand and powerful arm. Obey all the commands I’m giving you today. Then you will have the strength to enter and take possession of the land once you’ve crossed the Jordan River.
I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.
And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.
