1 John 4:5-6
Those false prophets speak about matters of the world, and the world listens to them because they belong to the world. But we belong to God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever does not belong to God does not listen to us. This, then, is how we can tell the difference between the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Let all men see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon.
1 Corinthians 12:26-27
If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer with it. If one part is given special care, the other parts are happy. You are all a part of the body of Christ.
And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;
Loving Father, we pray that you would increase the depth of our love in fellowship.
I pray that your love will keep on growing because of your knowledge and insight.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with all eagerness, daily examining the Scriptures, to find out if these things were so.
Psalm 73:16, 20, 27-28
Yet it is so hard to explain it—this prosperity of those who hate the Lord. Their present life is only a dream! They will awaken to the truth as one awakens from a dream of things that never really were! But those refusing to worship God will perish, for He destroys those serving other gods. But as for me, I get as close to Him as I can! I have chosen Him, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful ways He rescues me.
1 Corinthians 1:20-21
So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn’t God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in His wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb—preaching, of all things!—to bring those who trust Him into the way of salvation.
