Let us put on Christ

Romans 13:12-14

The night is almost over, and the day is near. So let’s get rid of the actions that belong to the darkness and put on the weapons of light. Let’s behave appropriately as people who live in the day, not in partying and getting drunk, not in sleeping around and obscene behavior, not in fighting and obsession. Instead, dress yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ, and don’t plan to indulge your selfish desires.

Are you available?

Life involves responsibility, but are there certain times meetings take priority over a friend in need, deadlines over a meal with your family? How important will that deadline be in comparison to having missed sharing that last meal with a loved one, having been there for your child who needed help with homework? How available are you?

How do you respond to the demands on your time in the midst of your busy schedule? Are you willing to have your schedule interrupted? Are you too distracted to listen or even hear the call for your attention from someone in need?

God often uses interruptions to get your attention. How willing are you to be interrupted?

Isaiah 50:2

When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was My arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.

Thanksgiving prayer to a living God

Thank You Lord for Your grace. Thank You Lord for Your joy. Thank You Lord for the gift of Your salvation. May I never forget to thank You. May I never take You for granted. Thank You for redeeming me, for that I will never cease to praise You!
