Heavenly Father, help us to live a life of obedience to You. Help us to honour You with all that we do & say.
Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon.
So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.
Matthew 5:44, 46
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you… If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
Colossians 2:6-7; 13-14
And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust Him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with Him. Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done.
You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then He gave you a share in the very life of Christ, for He forgave all your sins, and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of His commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross.
But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
…we are not defined by external factors, but shaped & designed in God’s image.
We have a high priest who can feel it when we are weak and hurting.
Heavenly Father, open our ears that we may heed Your best for us & help us to live under the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Those who let their sinful old selves tell them what to do live under that power of their sinful old selves. But those who let the Holy Spirit tell them what to do are under His power.
